Children’s Programs

Storytime with Ms. Laura
Please join Ms. Laura for Storytime on Zoom every Tuesday. Let’s stay connected while we’re apart and read, dance, and have fun together! Participants will “shake their sillies out” to fun songs right from the comfort of their own home. This program is intended for children ages 0-5, with their caregiver.

Tail Waggin’ Tutors
Read to your favorite Tail Waggin’ Tutor on Zoom. Bliss is a local and friendly dog that is certified with Therapy Dogs International, Inc. During this Zoom session your child will have the chance to read their favorite books to Bliss. Each participant will receive fifteen minutes to read to Bliss. This program is for children of all ages. Visit our calendar to request your session today.

Crafts To-Go!
While the library may be closed for fun events, we still want to make sure you have a fun summer. Sign-up on Eventbrite for a craft kit of the week! Crafts kits are for children of all ages, some kits might require the help of an adult, and all supplies are included. Once everyone has their kit we will meet on Zoom to show off our completed crafts or work on them together. Please check our calendar to request a craft kit of the week; supplies are limited.

Little Lab Coats
Go on a scientific discovery with Little Lab Coats! Perform exciting experiments to explore the basic properties of science in an easy and fun way. No experience or previous knowledge required. For Ages 6-9. Space is Limited. These programs take place quarterly during the school year with special events during the summer. Please visit our calendar for the next session. Little Lab Coats is brought to you by Noble and Greenough Student, Niki, who has a passion for teaching science.

Read Aloud for Grades 3 – 5
Read aloud isn’t just for preschoolers. Join us every Wednesday at 10:30 as we work our way through award winning books like Joey Pigza Swallowed the Key by Jack Gantos,  and The Terrible Two by Jory John and Mac Barnett. Countless studies show that students get many benefits from read aloud time well past their early childhoods. And they’re fun books too!

Middle Grade Book Club
Middle Grade Book Club is a virtual book club for kids in grades 5-8 who want to read and discuss books with other kids. This virtual book club meets on Zoom. Please check out our calendar for more information.

Library SCIENCE!
On alternating Wednesdays we explore a variety of STEAM topics and ideas. Past projects include hacking together a macro phone lens from a broken DVD player and using dry ice to make our own ice cream in a matter of minutes. This program will cover a variety of topics from raising butterflies from eggs to making our own plasma cutter from 9 volt batteries and beyond.
