Sports Series: Ted Reinstein discusses Before Brooklyn

Author Ted Reinstein of Chronicle joins our Sports Series to discuss baseball’s Negro Leagues. His book Before Brooklyn: The Unsung Heroes Who Helped Break Baseball’s Color Barrier delves into the history of the Negro Leagues, the players’ long fight to break the color barrier, and the Black press that helped bring to light the racist underside of the national pastime.

Ted Reinstein has been a reporter for WCVB’s Chronicle since 1997. In addition, he has been a contributor for WCVB’s political roundtable show and sits on WCVB’s editorial board. He lives just west of Boston with his wife and two daughters. He is also the author of New England Notebook and Wicked Pissed.
