Wednesday Workshops: Crafting an Artful Life

Are you striving to live your life in a way that supports your mind, body and spirit? This series is designed to explore some tools and ways to craft an artful life and live with intention. We will meet twice a month to learn about and develop ways in which we can work in our journals, create art, move our bodies in supportive ways, and surround ourselves with things we make that bring us joy in an inspiring and supportive community.
- Seed ideas and prompts will be given each week, which we will ponder, expand on, and experiment with.
- Whether we’re sketching, writing, moving or crafting…. you will find that you’re expressing yourself in your own way and finding those things that resonate with you.
Registration is required through Eventbrite.
Please register for each date that you plan to attend.
Each date will have a different focus:
February 1 – Quilling
(Valentine theme, or not) with special guest teacher, Julie Celularo!
Using colored paper strips we will create beautiful works of art.
Supplies:
Quilling paper – using colored paper, make your own strips by cutting 11- or 12-inch long pieces that are 1/8-inch wide.
1 sheet of thick card stock or board for your background
Optional – Shadowbox picture frame
Quilling tool – (toothpick or bamboo skewer will work fine)
White glue – liquid tacky glue, and a toothpick to apply glue
Scissors
Tweezers
February 15 – Terrariums
Create a pleasing landscape in a glass container. We will learn how to choose our plants and how to care for them.
March 8 – Luminaria – Paper/jam jar
Let’s celebrate the Spring Equinox with light! We’ll fold colorful paper luminaria, and create a simple olive oil lamp in a jam jar.
March 22 – Mini Flower Press Gratitude Jar Gratitude sticks
As Spring approaches, be ready to capture those delicate buds and blooms with your own portable flower press!
