Teen Programming
Minecraft @ DPL
Scared of skeletons? Sick of silverfish? Severely inconvenienced by spiders?
Mine with your friends on the Dedham Public Library’s own minecraft server. Our server is run in survival mode with pvp turned off (and keep inventory turned on!), and is available to patrons aged 10 to 15 who have applied and been whitelisted here. Maybe it will be YOU who finds the elusive elytra, the secretive stronghold, or the axolotl… something… Apply today!
The server is available every Tuesday from 3:30 to 4:30. You can play from home or use a library computer.
Teen & Tween Digital Makerspace
Learn photo manipulation and digital art using 100% free online resources. Every Friday of the month from 3:30 to 4:30 is set aside for creating artificial landscapes, adding storm clouds to photos and, naturally, editing our pets into famous paintings. Our projects work best using a computer with a mouse, but are still possible with touchscreens and trackpads.
Dungeons and Dragons
Enter the fantasy world of Dungeons and Dragons with Dungeons Master Jonah at the Dedham Public Library. Dungeons and Dragons is a tabletop roleplaying game in which kids explore with their imagination as they take on the role of adventurers in the land of Faerun, roll some dice and save the world. Want to learn how to play? All you need is your imagination as Jonah will show you how to make a character, roll the dice and what materials you need if you want to explore Dungeons and Dragons with your friends outside the library.
An experienced adventurer? We have many adventure books and source books to check out if you want to play at home. Dungeons and Dragons at the library is on hiatus but will return in the future. Dungeons and Dragons programs are for kids 10 and up. If you have any questions contact Jonah at jsmiley@minlib.net.
