Write and Share Tales About Dedham and Its Residents

This town is full of stories to tell. In this course, writers helped uncover and share the stories of all sorts of people with a deep connection to Dedham’s past and present.

This nonfiction profile-writing course took place in the Fall of 2023 at the Dedham Public Library.

In this course, writers interviewed and wrote a profile article on a Dedham resident.

The goals of this project was to build new connections within our community and allow town residents to learn more about each other and about Dedham!

STORIES 

Michaela Calderwood interviewed Joy Oberlander, writing about the time Joy spent in Dedham as a child focusing on her relationship with her father.

Amy Stiftel-Sedlis wrote about and interviewed Marie Donoghue, diving into her friendship with Elena.

Linda Magee Hurley interviewed Walter Kieseling, writing about his adventures and endeavors.

Jeremy, who led this program, and his family moved to Dedham seven years ago and have come to appreciate the home and community they've found here. Jeremy majored in history in college and later worked as a newspaper journalist.
