Dedham Council on Aging Transportation Services

The Council on Aging operates two handicap-accessible vans that provide transportation for Dedham seniors (aged 55 and over) and disabled residents to local medical appointments, grocery shopping, errands, and the Dedham Food Pantry. Scheduling is subject to availability, so it is recommended to call at least two weeks in advance of your travel date.

Dedham CareCab

CareCab is a transportation program that helps Dedham residents access essential mental health and recovery services hassle-free. Through a partnership with local taxi services, residents 18 and older can enjoy seamless, free transportation to and from mental health and substance use recovery programs.

MBTA The RIDE

The RIDE paratransit service offers door-to-door, shared-ride public transportation for individuals who cannot use the subway, bus, or trolley all or some of the time due to temporary or permanent disabilities. Available year-round, the RIDE operates with similar hours to the MBTA, generally from 5 AM to 1 AM daily. Customers can schedule their trips one to five days in advance and receive a pick-up window for their ride's arrival.

Rides for Veterans

Through Norfolk County's RSVP Office, volunteers offer transportation for veterans to medical appointments within a designated service area. A minimum of one week's notice is required prior to your appointment date. Rides are free, but passengers are responsible for any tolls and required parking charges. All volunteer drivers have passed a CORI criminal history check.
