Dedham's Veterans' Services Department counsels Veterans and/or their dependents regarding assistance and benefit opportunities, provides information and guidance on applications, forms, documentation, and eligibility, and processes Veteran’s benefit applications, administers various Veteran’s benefits, and assists Veterans with employment searches.

Through the VA, Veterans and their dependents can access services and manage benefits, including filing claims for disability compensation for conditions related to military service, applying for and managing GI Bill and other education benefits, requesting a printed Veteran ID card, obtaining VA benefit letters and medical records, and learning how to apply for a discharge upgrade.

The DAV supports over a million veterans annually, offering free, lifelong assistance to veterans, their families, and survivors. Through Massachusetts offices and mobile units, they help veterans access benefits, find jobs, secure housing, and obtain quality health care. The organization also fosters connections among veterans to promote healing through shared experiences.

The National Veterans Foundation assists veterans and their families through their toll-free, vet-to-vet hotline. Veteran counselors provide information, counseling, and service referrals for VA benefits, mental health support, housing, medical services, education, financial issues, and more.
